amc In The Annexe is superb, taking the track to new, lovely dimensions. Boqurant is a close second with some great layering. Favorite track: In The Annexe (Shady Monk Remix).

about

Music is math.

Half brothers Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin taught me that at the cusp of my teenage youth, right as I was about to embark on my journey as a musician/producer for the first time. Listening to them gave me so many tools, as I studied their many techniques. Boards of Canada has long since been one of the most crucial influences to my musical career. Where I've taken time to remix countless artists, there are few who I've invested time in remixing an albums worth of tracks for. The brothers made this a bit easy for me in one major regard; so many of their finest tracks are beat-less, completely synth based, so where many unofficial/bootleg edits I do are more 'subtractive', remixing most of these tracks was an effort in building more instrumentation around a simple progression that was already quite minimal. For this reason, I always knew a compilation would eventually be in store, as I kept making more remixes over time. Remixing their work has always served to teach me a great deal. I'm sure this will not be the last time I take to re-imagining the duos work.

These tracks were covered, produced, remixed over the coarse of the last decade, since 2010, with some having been made prior to me donning the Shady Monk alias.
